Week 4: Rain? What Rain?

Dear everyone,

How the heck are ya, (pardon my French) things here are moving along, although our pool of on date investigators is drying up fast, one fell off date (stopped coming to church and no contact :-( ) and we are baptizing another one on Saturday, so that leaves us with a grand total of one... so it's off tracting we go...hurray! I went on exchanges on Friday and I found that my favorite missionary is still my own companion. As the title of this letter may suggest it has been sunny up here for all except about three days (Hmmm) we are gong to try to baptize 100 people by the end of the month, so we are gong to need to literally yell from the roof tops and convert people, and it will still take a miracle but in this mission miracles happen all the time so no worries, we had stake conference yesterday, and president Larkin was there, I guess he has one favorite talk that he loves to give ( elder Beckstrand has heard it four times now) but it was a really good meeting, it was nice to not have to work to feel the spirit for a change. I am very grateful they, the members (or some of them at least) are excited about missionary work, I don't think anything would happen (convert wise) in this area without the members. It was great to get all the emails today, It is really nice to hear from everyone. I am excited to get a new mission president and will miss President Larkin, but with my combination of President Stice's rigid stance on not being an average missionary and President Larkin's strict regime, I am fixing to become one of the most notorious elders in the mission, because when the mission splits we are absorbing some of the Tacoma mission's elders (who don't have the same standards we do) I will make exceptional missionaries of all of them (even if it kills them, because it never killed anyone in our mission)

Well that's all the new and stuff I can think of for this week, I love you all

Week 3: "Good Morning, Neverland!"

Hello everyone, the rain has finally started. we still have a car, and I haven't needed vitamin D yet. The work is going as well as ever (which is rather slow) we are still trying to find new (consistent) investigators. Sister Boon was baptized on Saturday, it was really great. She and her husband will make excellent members. We have only had one real lesson since then.Things are still good here, I enjoy personal study, and I am getting better at teaching. I still haven't gotten any mail, witch makes me sad, I like hearing from you people, I finally got my bike! (it is sitting in the members garage) I hope I won't need if for a while. we are having apartment inspections today, I think we will pass easily. I don't have much to say, so I will say bye now, BYE!!!

Week 2: And so it begins...

Hello everyone,

I am in Seattle now, well actually, I am in Federal Way, but the work is here too. My trainer/companion is Elder Beckstrand, he is taller than me, has been here a little less than a year, and enjoys wearing scarves. We have several investigators, and a few baptisms (arranged before I got here. The mission president is passionate about the work and expects the best of all of us, he reminds me of Jeffery R. Holland. As far as I know I am the only new elder in the district, but I will find out for certain at zone meeting that we have on Friday. We are living in the basement of an older German couple, they are really nice. The field is ready to harvest here, it will be fascinating to be a part of it. I love you all, talk to you next week.

love
