Ow!

I had an interesting adventure today. An elder in our district had a slack line, it is a kind of a tightrope thing, so we set it up and were trying to walk it, unfortunately I fell off :( I dislocated my shoulder, which hurt somewhat, not too bad though. So I went to up here's version of Instacare and they put it back in for me :) Not painful at all, it was pretty cook (not something I'd recommend, though). So my arm is in a sling (the right one, fortunatley).

Other than that, the week was pretty uneventful, I am fine now, as long as I be a good boy and obey the doctor :)

Trunky Companion

So, my new area is Green River, it is mostly flat, because it is a bike area, but it has two huge hills on the west and east side, fortunately we don't have very many investigators up there so it's all good, not as rich as Dash Point but that's ok. My new companion is Elder Petersen, he is going home at the end of the transfer, so I have to put up with his endless talks about home and his plans, and what not, butI try not to complain, other than that everything is good.

Transferred!

Elder Farnes and I, now I am getting transferred

Dear everyone,

I got transferred, I will now be in the Green River ward. I will miss Dash Point, but I am needed in Green River, so there we have it. I don't know who my new companion will be, so I will keep you posted. This week has been a little slower than last week, we didn't baptize anyone which is sad but there you go.Winter is finally starting to set in here, we woke up to a nifty fog, so we went jogging in the state park for morning exercise, I was expecting to be attacked by zombies at any moment, Washington is like that . I don't have much else to report, it will be sad to leave but it is exciting to be going somewhere new, and I will be on a bike this transfer so my backside is going to be unhappy with me. I love you all, thank you for all your prayers,

Elder Turney

Week 4: Rain? What Rain?

Dear everyone,

How the heck are ya, (pardon my French) things here are moving along, although our pool of on date investigators is drying up fast, one fell off date (stopped coming to church and no contact :-( ) and we are baptizing another one on Saturday, so that leaves us with a grand total of one... so it's off tracting we go...hurray! I went on exchanges on Friday and I found that my favorite missionary is still my own companion. As the title of this letter may suggest it has been sunny up here for all except about three days (Hmmm) we are gong to try to baptize 100 people by the end of the month, so we are gong to need to literally yell from the roof tops and convert people, and it will still take a miracle but in this mission miracles happen all the time so no worries, we had stake conference yesterday, and president Larkin was there, I guess he has one favorite talk that he loves to give ( elder Beckstrand has heard it four times now) but it was a really good meeting, it was nice to not have to work to feel the spirit for a change. I am very grateful they, the members (or some of them at least) are excited about missionary work, I don't think anything would happen (convert wise) in this area without the members. It was great to get all the emails today, It is really nice to hear from everyone. I am excited to get a new mission president and will miss President Larkin, but with my combination of President Stice's rigid stance on not being an average missionary and President Larkin's strict regime, I am fixing to become one of the most notorious elders in the mission, because when the mission splits we are absorbing some of the Tacoma mission's elders (who don't have the same standards we do) I will make exceptional missionaries of all of them (even if it kills them, because it never killed anyone in our mission)

Well that's all the new and stuff I can think of for this week, I love you all

Week 3: "Good Morning, Neverland!"

Hello everyone, the rain has finally started. we still have a car, and I haven't needed vitamin D yet. The work is going as well as ever (which is rather slow) we are still trying to find new (consistent) investigators. Sister Boon was baptized on Saturday, it was really great. She and her husband will make excellent members. We have only had one real lesson since then.Things are still good here, I enjoy personal study, and I am getting better at teaching. I still haven't gotten any mail, witch makes me sad, I like hearing from you people, I finally got my bike! (it is sitting in the members garage) I hope I won't need if for a while. we are having apartment inspections today, I think we will pass easily. I don't have much to say, so I will say bye now, BYE!!!

Week 2: And so it begins...

Hello everyone,

I am in Seattle now, well actually, I am in Federal Way, but the work is here too. My trainer/companion is Elder Beckstrand, he is taller than me, has been here a little less than a year, and enjoys wearing scarves. We have several investigators, and a few baptisms (arranged before I got here. The mission president is passionate about the work and expects the best of all of us, he reminds me of Jeffery R. Holland. As far as I know I am the only new elder in the district, but I will find out for certain at zone meeting that we have on Friday. We are living in the basement of an older German couple, they are really nice. The field is ready to harvest here, it will be fascinating to be a part of it. I love you all, talk to you next week.

Week 1: Happy First Week!

MTC life is strange, very scheduled, I am glad you are enjoying life I am also glad that I don't have to pull dandelions here, my companions are Elder Dawson (he's pretty cool he sometimes uses a bad British accent but oh well) and Elder Larson (he is 6' 7" and kind of forgetful) he is our district leader. On Sunday I will be a zone leader, I'm not sure what they do yet but I will learn. We started teaching our first pretend investigator, His name is John. We had a really good first lesson and we are planing our next one. Please send some toothpaste, I forgot mine (I'm so embarrassed and it turns out that the book store doesn't sell any) and if you could fit in a spiral bound note book, that would be great. So far I have seen Carylin Hatch, Michel Kershaw, and a glimpse of Alicia Turley, and I have even seen Jevin Parody from APA, I am learning so much about the gospel and my self it is kind of uncanny... but anyway, I'm glad everything is going great at the house, keep me up to date on the goings on at home. I love you all very much

Love,
